SEND IT THRU KRISHNA
In 2020, as the pandemic took hold, I could no longer purchase plexiglass. Working uncomfortably at home, away from my studio, I used photographs of my earlier tape pieces and began making collages in my backyard. It wasn’t the easiest process for me…the wind outside created dirt and the heat would dry the glue too fast but eventually as I went back to my studio I had created the start of a new and unexpected series. Using tape imagery and adding a new material…“yarn” as a detail, I created these large works. For two years I continued the series and at some point I was ready to use “yarn” as my primary medium. Although, I don’t often work with a specific narrative, I think because this series was created during the pandemic and obviously a huge crisis in our lives, it stands alone from any of my other works.
