THE MAGICAL GARDEN
My most recent series, explores the interplay between simplification, minimalism and abstraction. The “Magical Garden”, can be a metaphor for a space where simplicity exists. To fulfill this simplistic analogy, I have used “yarn” as my primary and only medium. Accepting what is essential, yarn used as crochet and humbly assembled, it needs no other components to realize the underlying truth.

“Yarn Configuration”
As this series has continued to progress, I have moved into smaller and medium works.
I have introduced paint directly on the wall to many of the pieces, while also adding
other yarn elements to the work.
"Yarn Configuration" (Stripes and no stars). Yarn, pushpins.
"Yarn Configuration" (Turquoise). Yarn, pushpins.

“Painting No.”
As part of this series, I have been interested in paint studies. Working with the negative shapes that the yarn constructions form and painting them repetitively has allowed me to envision these works with a new visual language.
